Innocents

10

Win when every Traitor is dead.

  • Innocent

    Must kill all the Traitors.

  • Survivalist

An upgraded Innocent with their own shop. By default it's the same shop the Detective has. Their goal is the same as the Innocent's.

  • Spy

An Innocent with a shop who tries to play on the Traitors' side. Traitors see the Spy as one of their own, but the Spy doesn't know who the Traitors are, so the Traitors can't tell who to trust either. When there's a Spy in the round, Traitor chat is disabled.

  • Priest

An Innocent with a hidden role. The Priest has a Holy Deagle used to build a “brotherhood” of Innocents; its members can see each other on the scoreboard (TAB). Shooting a Detective or Sniffer deals 30 damage. Shooting any other evil role kills the Priest (the hostile roles you can shoot without penalty are Infected and Sidekick, because the Holy Deagle kills them). If the Priest is turned into an Infected, a zombie or a Sidekick, the whole brotherhood is turned with them. Every shot is followed by a cooldown.

  • Wrath

An Innocent with a vendetta. If another Innocent kills them, they respawn as a Traitor after 15 seconds and win with the Traitors. If they are killed by a role outside the Innocent team, they die normally.

  • Trapper

Basically an Innocent who detects Traitor traps. When someone uses a trap, the Trapper sees a “wave” effect at that spot. Other players who use traps can also see when the Trapper uses one.

  • Medium

An Innocent who “hears” the dead. They see a scrambled version of the spectator chat.

  • Pure

An Innocent who blinds their killer for 20 seconds. If the Pure kills someone themselves, they lose their “purity” and become a regular Innocent.

  • Paranoid

An Innocent with a Dead Man's Switch item. When they die in any way, everyone gets a message about their death in the middle of the screen and can see their body through walls.

  • Pharaoh

An Innocent who starts with an “ankh” item. Once they place it somewhere strategic, a random Traitor turns into the Graverobber. After dying, the Pharaoh respawns at the ankh once, as long as the Graverobber hasn't stolen it. The ankh heals its owner while they are nearby, and the colour of the runes around it shows the current owner's team. Any player can destroy it.

Detectives

4

Play on the Innocent side.

  • Detective

Has to search bodies to find DNA and work out who the killer was.

  • Sniffer

A regular Detective whose role is visible to everyone. With a magnifying glass they can see every player's footprints, and the killer's footprints also show blood.

  • Sheriff & Deputy

The Sheriff is basically a regular Detective: visible to everyone, has a shop and plays for the Innocent team. They have a deputy deagle used to hire a “buddy”: they have to hit another player to change that player's role to Deputy. The player who was hit fights for the Sheriff's team.

  • Vigilante

A Detective-type role. Every Traitor kill (or hostile neutral role kill) raises their damage multiplier, while killing an ally lowers it. They also get 30 armour by default.

Traitors

6

Win when every Innocent is dead.

  • Traitor

    Must kill all the Innocents.

  • Hitman

A Traitor who starts the round with zero credits. They don't get credits for other players' deaths; instead they fight for every credit by killing their assigned targets. Killing the target grants a credit right away. If the target dies some other way, they get nothing. Either way, once the target is dead they get a new one.

  • Gambler

A Traitor who has to make do with whatever they get. At the start they receive four random items from the Traitor shop but no credits, so they have to fit their strategy to what they rolled. During the round, though, they can earn credits and buy items like a regular Traitor.

  • Sleeper

A Traitor who starts as an Innocent and believes they are a regular Innocent. They stay that way until all the other Traitors die before the round ends. Then they quietly switch to the Traitor team without anyone knowing. If a Traitor is revived later (e.g. by the Graverobber), the Sleeper stays a Traitor anyway.

  • Graverobber

A Traitor who appears when the Pharaoh places the ankh: a random Traitor becomes the Graverobber and the Pharaoh's personal nemesis. They can steal the ankh from the Pharaoh. If the Graverobber has the ankh, they are the one who respawns after death instead of the Pharaoh.

  • Janitor

You play a Traitor with a special gadget: the Janitor's Broom! The broom has two special functions. Left click cleans up and destroys a body, and the item then goes on a long cooldown. Right click removes DNA from any body you find, including other Traitors' DNA. Removing DNA doesn't trigger a cooldown.

Others

6

Their own teams and neutral roles.

  • Jester

Plays on their own team, and their goal is to get killed. The Jester deals no damage, which makes it easier to provoke others, but shooting people without hurting them can also give them away. Killing the Jester means a win for the Jester's team, so be careful around them.

  • Infected

Plays on their own team and has to kill others to infect them. Victims come back after a few seconds and fight on the Infected's side, but they have to protect their host, because they die when the host dies. If there's a Jester in the round, the Infected can kill them.

  • Necromancer

A role with a shop that starts with a special defibrillator. How many times it can be used depends on the number of players in the round. The Necromancer's goal is to be the last one standing, but they don't have to be alone. Revived corpses come back as zombies, which are slower than regular players and only have a deagle with seven shots. When the ammo runs out, the zombie dies.

  • Pirate

A mercenary who always fights for whoever holds their contract. The Pirate Captain starts with a Contract item, which does nothing on its own. If the Captain drops it and someone picks it up, all Pirates join that person's team (their “master”). When the Captain dies, the contract disappears and a new Captain is chosen from the Pirates. The new Captain isn't bound by their predecessor's promises and can look for a new master on their own.

  • Bodyguard

On spawning, the Bodyguard is assigned a random player to protect and plays on that player's team. They get a message revealing their ward's role, and the ward is told who their Bodyguard is. However, the Bodyguard can't see the other members of their team (e.g. as a Traitor they won't see the other Traitors). If they hurt their ward, the ward takes reduced damage and the Bodyguard takes heavy reflected damage. If they kill their ward, they die too. When the ward dies, the Bodyguard also takes damage.

  • Amnesiac

You don't know who you are. To find your identity, you have to find and confirm a body that nobody has searched yet. The moment you confirm it, you get the role that body had.
